Can Satan determine the destiny of a human soul?

N o, Satan cannot force anyone to follow him, nor can he determine the destiny of a human soul. When Jesus said, “Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell” (Luke 12:5), He was referring to God, not to Satan. The Bible teaches us that each individual determines his or her eternal destiny, and it is God in His perfect righteousness who enacts judgment. Unbelief shuts the door to Heaven and opens it to Hell. Man condemns himself to eternal Hell because he refuses God’s way of salvation and hope of eternal life with Him. The same Book that tells us over and over again of God’s love also warns us constantly of the devil who would come between us and God—the devil who is waiting to ensnare men’s souls.
