What is a resurrected body?
R esurrected bodies are physical bodies reunited with the spirit (soul) — but without any imperfection or weakness. As such, they will be like the resurrected body of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the resurrection, the fleshly, physical body that was prone to wander in sin will become a glorious, spirit filled body set free from sin: “Just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven [Christ]. . . . For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:49, 53). The body that lies decaying in the grave may have been worn out with age, abused by disease or harm, or broken by an accident, but in the resurrection that body will be raised in glory! Our limited minds cannot begin to fathom what will transpire in that moment, but we do know that our resurrected bodies will be free of all
