What does it mean to be “changed in the twinkling of an eye”?
I n the Greek language, the twinkling of an eye implies only half a wink—and that is the expression Paul used to describe how quickly God will transform our bodies at the resurrection. In the computer age, users do not question the nanosecond (one billionth of a second), the unit of time it often takes a computer to access its memory. A person can begin to type a phrase and before he or she is finished, it will appear on the screen—yet many people doubt that God can transform His creation in the twinkling of an eye. The Bible tells us that, at the end of the present age, one generation of believers will never know bodily death—namely, the generation that is still alive when Christ returns for His own.
