The Heaven Answer Book

In the heavenly ages to come, we will better compre hend the starry hosts He calls by name. We will cast our eyes on His hands that bear the marks of why we will be permitted through Heaven’s gates instead of standing accused before God’s throne—because Christ will have presented us faultless, with exceeding joy (Jude 24). The ransomed of the Lord will be overtaken with joy, and “sorrow and sighing will flee away” (Isaiah 51:11). The psalmist declared, “You will fill me with joy in your presence” (Psalm 16:11). Yes, we will take seriously all that God has done for us. And we will take pleasure in His attributes, for the fruit of His Spirit is joy (Galatians 5:22). When Jesus was on earth, He said that He would give us His joy (John 15:11) and that it would be com plete and never be taken away (John 16:22). And the Lord keeps His promises. He would not give us some thing so wonderful as His joy on earth and then take it away in Heaven. Among the many promises of God, He said, “My people will receive a double portion . . . and everlasting joy will be theirs” (Isaiah 61:7).
