prayer for His disciples, Jesus said, “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. . . . Sanctify them by the truth” (John 17:15, 17). Jesus doesn’t call us to escape from this world and its problems, but to confront them with His power and love. We are to be involved in the world—but without being contaminated, influenced, or swayed by its ways. This distinction can be achieved only by a close walk with Christ, having the mind of Christ, and seeking the leadership of the Holy Spirit every hour of the day. To be heavenly-minded is the only way to do earthly good.
