you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless of course you fail the test?” (2 Corinthians 13:5). The key is to trust God’s promises. Remember: Satan can cast doubt in your mind if you’ve become distant in your relationship to the Lord. Or Satan may be trying to defeat the power of your testimony. Don’t give Satan a foothold; the greatest roadblock to Satan’s work is the Christian who, above all else, lives for God, walks with integrity, is filled with the Spirit, and is obe dient to God’s truth. The apostle John wrote, “This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son; He who has the Son has life; . . . the evil one cannot harm him” (1 John 5:11–12, 18). Feed on God’s Word, pray, fellowship with other believers, and ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen your spiri tual walk. God’s promises can be trusted, because God cannot lie. And once you have trusted Christ, thank Him that your past is forgiven and your future is secure—solely because of Him.
