Will people who claim to believe in Jesus and yet never show any signs of a changed life go to Heaven when they die?

O nly God knows people’s hearts, and whether or not they honestly gave their life to Christ. Jesus warned, however, that “not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). No Christian is perfect, of course—but someday our true relationship with Christ will be revealed. The Bible warns, “Everything is uncov ered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13). Nevertheless, one of the signs of a true Christian is a changed life. In fact, if there is no indication that a person wants to follow Christ, it strongly suggests that their faith may not be sincere and they may not be saved.
