Does God allow some people to have a glimpse of Heaven just before they die or even earlier? Did it happen to anyone in the Bible?

W hile Scripture does not promise a glimpse into Heaven, it does tell of an account of Stephen, the first person to be martyred for his faith in Christ, who declared as he was being stoned, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God” (Acts 7:56). Some claim to have died and gone to Heaven and returned to tell what they saw and experienced. Others tell about visiting Heaven, but Heaven is not a retreat or a place to visit—it is a permanent dwelling. Claims about eyewitness accounts of Heaven often say little about Jesus Christ—and this should make us treat them with great caution. Our hope must be built on
