Second, God also speaks in nature. When He created the Heavens and the earth, He gave us an incredible, complex, beautiful, orderly universe. The Bible declares, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20). Third, God speaks through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is revealed for us in the pages of the Bible and is the Word of God incarnate. “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son” (Hebrews 1:1–2). Finally, God speaks to us by the Holy Spirit. This may be the “still small voice” of our conscience that will not let us go until we do what is right—or it may be a loud, clear conviction of what God wants us to do. The Bible says, “The lamp of the Lord searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being”
