But we do find an answer in Scripture for someone who is sincere of heart. When Jesus was hanging on the cross between two criminals, one mocked Jesus because He wouldn’t save Himself. But the other turned to Jesus and, in faith, cried out, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Christ replied, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:42–43). Although he had only a brief time to live, he received the gift of salvation. The Bible says, “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). Don’t presume upon God’s grace. Don’t treat lightly Christ’s death on the cross. Don’t risk being flat on your back and looking up toward Heaven before answering the most important question that confronts you: What will you do with Jesus ? Receive Him today.
