Do we become angels when we die, as some think?

A lthough this may be an intriguing thought, we do not become angels when we die. Angels are different from us, and in Heaven that difference will be preserved. The holy angels are glorious spiritual beings under the command of God, but the gift of grace has been extended to the human race. God made provision for the salvation of fallen men, but He made no provision for the salvation of the fallen angels, who rebelled against their Creator and followed Lucifer (or Satan). The holy angels, how ever, did not sin and they never lost their original glory or their relationship with God. This assures them of their exalted place in God’s order—and even now they serve God with great power. The Bible says, “they are minister ing spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14).
